Mt. Anak Krakatoa which is located in the area of Sunda straits disgorging their materials of hot magma. It pushes the Pusat Vulkanologi dan Mitigasi Bencana Geologi (PVMBG) change the status of this active volcano to attentive stage, effective from Monday(20/04/2009).

Seismograph data at observatory of mt. Anak Krakatoa at Hargopancuran village, the district of Rajabasa, South of Lampung noted that on along Tuesday last week there been 126 times small eruption with 23 times volcanic A quake (depth quake), 82 times volcanic B quake (short quake), and 149 times blowing steam.

The head of observatory at the mt.krakatoa, Andi Suwardi has also said that the power of their eruption is about 20 to 35 amplitude and the depth quake is 15 km from bellow sea level.

Short quake that lies on 15km from bellow sea level has occurred following with tremor quake. Both of the quake type just only can be observed from seismograph, and people who live around there can not feel it. Nevertheless, Andi has also gave formal warning to the people to stay away from Anak Krakatoa at least 3km away since that blazing lava and poison gases would be very dangerous.
